The attached files in pdf-format are based on lecture notes for the course “An introduction to tropical forest genetics” within the module “Forest genetics and plantation forestry”. This module is part of the M.Sc. studies in the area “Tropical and International Foresty” at the Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology, Göttingen University, Germany.
The text is divided into three main sections and 18 chapters. It contains an easy to read introduction to tropical forest genetics for undergraduate and postgraduate students without or with only minor knowledge of classical, molecular and population genetics.
